$58,000 Rags to Riches Stakes Draws Field of Ten
On Sunday at Churchill Downs, the featured race is the $58,000 Rags to Riches Stakes. The one mile contest has drawn a field of ten two-year-old fillies.
Hopefaithjoy has been installed as the 5-2 morning line favorite and will break from the outside post under jockey Rosie Napravnik. Trained by Todd Pletcher, the $270,000 yearling is from the first crop of multiple champion Lookin at Lucky who has developed into a top freshman sire. After a third-place finish in her debut, she broke her maiden at Keeneland in October as the heavy favorite by 3 ¾ lengths over eight rivals.
Taylor S back in action after poor finish in Alcibiades
Dale Romans will saddle Taylor S, the second choice on the morning line at odds of 4-1. The dark bay daughter of Medaglio d’Oro, a homebred for Albaugh Family Stable, is trying to rebound after finishing tenth in the Alcibiades (G1) last time out. She broke her maiden at first asking at Churchill Downs in September and will have Miguel Mena back aboard. She has had a workout at Churchill since that last race and will break from post four.
Streetheart trying stakes company for the first time
